Ashley Smith is a Managing Director within Navigant’s Legal Technology Solutions practice. She has been an industry leading expert for over 12 years focusing on best practices for information governance, data collection, processing, review, and production in complex legal matters. Ashley has lead a global team of over 30 professionals responsible for over 500 active engagements that span industry sectors. She has served as an expert in more than 200 matters, including twenty HSR-Second Requests, and several large FCPA investigations comprising terabytes of electronic data and millions of records for review. She has been responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, and enforcement of litigation management protocols focusing on flexible technology solutions. Ashley is a trusted expert and advisor to her clients, which include AmLaw 100 firms and Fortune 500 companies.
Ashley has utilized her expertise in electronic discovery and project management to develop proven and efficient methodologies for large scale review matters. She has boots on-the-ground experience conducting data collections in some of the world’s most complex regulatory environments, including, but not limited to, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, India, China, Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines. She is an expert in data privacy and international collection logistics, and has managed multiple complex projects in North America, Europe and Asia.
Ashley has successfully integrated Technology Assisted Review into project workflows to defensibly and efficiently reduce data volume and project cost. She focuses on client solutions that bring together forensic experts, structured data analysts, and data processing technicians to develop and deploy custom solutions for complex electronic discovery projects.
