Law Students for Reproductive Justice (LSRJ) trains and mobilizes law students and new lawyers

across the country to foster legal expertise and support for the realization of reproductive

justice. Mentoring and educating a diverse group of law students is an essential long-term strategy

for building additional capacity, vision, and skilled support for the reproductive justice (RJ)

movement. To ensure LSRJ is practicing the values inherent in the RJ framework, we

are proud to offer two (2) paid summer legal internships in 2016. Law students’

financial situation should not determine the work they are able to undertake, particularly if they

are passionate about social justice issues and want to utilize their degree to advocate for

progressive change.

MTO Fellows Program

Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP is proud to sponsor the 2016 MTO Fellows Program, which is designed to address barriers that diverse students face in applying for and succeeding in law school. The program has been recognized by
both The Daily Journal and Bloomberg.

In January 2016, a cohort of 20-30 potential law school applicants will be selected to participate in a one-year long intensive course of study that will commence in March 2016 and will prepare students for enrollment in
law school in the fall of 2017.

The MTO Fellows Program will run from March 2016 to February 2017 to allow sufficient time to advise Fellows in completing their law school applications by November 15, 2016. The program will include:
• An intensive, customized LSAT preparation course taught by a professional test prep company exclusively for
MTO Fellows that will run during the summer months leading up to the October 2016 LSAT exam. Fellows are required to attend this class at a location in downtown Los Angeles.
• Monthly Saturday programming sessions, hosted at Munger Tolles’ downtown Los Angeles offices, that are designed to build a foundation of knowledge concerning both admission to and success in law school. These sessions will bring together partners from the community and introduce MTO Fellows to lawyers in many different career paths, including those from public interest, public service and private practice backgrounds.
• Continuing support for MTO Fellows through the establishment of a strong and broad network of
professionals and mentors that will continue after the Fellows are accepted to law school. The program will
also foster a cohort of Fellows that will support each other during the LSAT prep and application process, in law school and throughout their careers. In order to prepare participants for the rigors of law school and the legal profession, we have certain expectations of our Fellows. These include attendance at every meeting, participation in the LSAT preparation course in downtown Los Angeles, completion of and submission to at least 15 law schools and professional behavior, including prompt arrival for every session and business casual attire. All sponsored activities take place in the greater Los Angeles/Orange County area. We require that Fellows must be located in or near the Los Angeles/Orange County area from June 15, 2016 until February 15, 2017 in order to apply for this program.

We seek individuals who show the potential to contribute meaningfully to the diversity of the legal profession, including, but not limited to, candidates who are members of racial or ethnic minority groups; gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender; physically challenged; or from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds.
