“I have always wanted to be on the Oprah show when the women had make-overs. Alas, Oprah's show is off the air but tonight at WLALA's event at the Frederic Fekkai's salon on Melrose I got my make-over before my headshot!  To my utter disbelief my business card was selected for the make-over. First a fresh haircut by Besma Chihi, amazing hair color by Enrico and makeup by Elena. Then an amazing headshot by Adam Sheridan Taylor.  Sort of like a Cinderella evening.  A special thank you to Beatrice Campion, Fekkai Salon manager and WLALA.” - Paula Pearlman, WLALA member, Executive Director, Disability Rights Legal Center
On June 28th Women Lawyers of Los Angeles Association presented the Polish Your Professional Image at the Frederic Fekkai Salon. The event provided women lawyers the opportunity to obtain a professional head shot taken by photographer Adam Sheridan Taylor at the world renowned Frederic Fekkai Salon.

The event was a resounding success! Many participants stated that the Polish Your Image event was one of their favorite if not the best WLALA event they have ever attended.

We all know how important it is to have a professional head shot for our firm and other social media websites: however, with our hectic schedules, it can be a challenge to take the time for ourselves, let alone the time that goes into the production of creating a presentable head shot. In addition, some of us have a fear of having our photos taken. This event created the opportunity to have all the resources at our disposal in one location that are instrumental in helping us present our professional image in the best manner possible. Having the support of other women lawyers as well as the nurturing atmosphere of Frederic Fekkai Salon made facing this sometimes daunting task not only possible but enjoyable. The attendees enjoyed networking while supporting each other in the overwhelming task of "getting head shots" completed.

The Frederic Fekkai Salon venue was perfect. The talented staff and management at the salon were the most gracious hosts and their service was impeccable. There was champagne flowing and every single woman that participated in the event left feeling better. Not just better about themselves but about one another.

The event guaranteed that each participant would receive one service and a head shot for her future personal use. Everyone actually received much more than they expected: 1) Networking opportunities with some of the most interesting women (other WLALA members as well as salon staff and management). 2) Excellent service - everyone was offered all three of the available salon services: hair, make-up and nails. Most were able to take advantage of two or more services; 3) Photography that guaranteed everyone had one or more shots.  Adam Sheridan Taylor professionally positioned everyone and took pictures until he got that wide smile and nod of approval from the subject. Another plus was the manner Adam entertained his subjects and charmed them with his English accent; 4) Drawing - the salon collected business cards and gave one lucky woman, member, Paula Pearlman, a complete make-over, including cut, color and make-up. Paula’s before and after photos (featured in this newsletter) will attest to the great service provided by the Frederic Fekkai Salon staff; 5) Gift Bag - each participant left with a gift bag from the salon which included a $50 gift card for any future service; 6) Pampering - the salon further spoiled us by providing champagne, sparkling water and scrumptious hors d’oeuvres and complimentary valet parking.

Our deepest thanks to the incredible team at Frederic Fekkai Salon, the talented Photographer, Adam Sheridan Taylor, WLALA President Angela Haskins, Kay Burt and all the beautiful attendees who made this a joy filled as well as productive event!
