WLALA invites you to join a fabulous panel of women lawyers in authentic conversations to demystify what it takes to become a successful associate in a law firm environment. Our panelists are mentor-oriented senior associates from a variety of law firms across the city, each of whom is committed to passing on their tips and advice on how to navigate the law firm environment. The goal is to assist attendees in generating a concrete action plan for fulfilling their career goals while becoming indispensable associates.
The panelists represent a broad cross-section of specialties and backgrounds, including plaintiff and defense side perspectives. Each of the panelists will offer their real-world experience of how they became successful in their firms, including: their efforts to maximize recognition, compensation, and flexibility; developing clients; and advocating for themselves within each of their law firms. The panelists will give you tips on everything from taking ownership of your cases, successful strategies for client communications, the path to partnership and even how to capture your billable time in order to maximize your efficiency and billable hours. This is an opportunity to learn from senior associates that have achieved success at their firms and receive candid advice to improve your chances for success, happiness and fulfillment in your law firm.
The panel will be moderated by Jeanne Fugate, partner at Caldwell Leslie, a premiere litigation boutique for high-stakes, complex civil, environmental, white collar and criminal defense cases in Los Angeles. The panelists are: Shehnaz Bhujwala of Kiesel Boucher & Larson, Jennifer Bonneville of Steptoe & Johnson, Zoila Davis of Irell & Manella, Philline Parlan of Jackson Lewis and Karen Stevenson of Buchalter Nemer. Join us for a program that promises an open and straight-forward dialogue aimed at giving you an array of tools and tips for becoming successful at your law firm.
