WLALA Golf League Will Partner With SCGA Youth on Course

On Saturday, October 19, 2013, women from the WLALA Golf League will partner for the first time with girls from the Southern California Golf Association’s Youth on Course program. We will play a scramble at The Lakes in El Segundo with tee times beginning at 10:30 am, followed by lunch and an hour program discussing careers in the legal field. Our WLALA Golf League contains diversity in legal related fields (e.g., lawyers, court reporters, judges, mediators, forensic economist, legal administrator, a jury consultant, and law students).
Confirmed speakers for the panel include:

Gladys Aquino,
an associate at Rodnunsky & Associates, an estate planning firm in Woodland Hills

Ruth D. Kahn
, a civil litigator, trial attorney and partner at Steptoe & Johnson LLP
Jilleen Stelding, a former court reporter and court reporting agency owner and now the Director of Business Development at Veritext Legal Solutions, a nationwide provider of deposition and litigation services

Cynthia Cohen
, a jury consultant and owner of Verdict Success LLC, will moderate.
Twelve to sixteen players from the WLALA Golf League will be matched for the day with an equal number of girls from the SCGA Youth on Course program. Jennifer Alban from the SCGA Foundation is organizing the event hosted by SCGA Youth on Course. The mission of the SCGA Foundation is to sponsor the education of youth through golf.
Donations are encouraged to cover costs of the upcoming program: A suggested contribution of $40 will cover the greens fees and lunch for one adult player. A contribution of $75 covers greens fees and lunch for both an adult and one of the girls. Checks are payable to SCGA Youth on Course.
To RSVP for the October 19 event or to express your interest in a future event, please contact Cynthia Cohen at or call (310) 545-7914. Spaces will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
