Annual Mock Interview Program Recap
By Krysta Kauble
On March 25, 2014, WLALA hosted its second annual mock interview night at Loyola Law School. The program was created by Jennifer Ishiguro, Managing Counsel at Toyota Financial Services and chair of the In-House counsel committee, as a way to help connect law students with attorneys. This year’s distinguished panel included the Honorable Sandra Klein, the Honorable Nicole Bershon, and Jessica Kronstadt, Deputy District Attorney at Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. The event began with a panel in which Judge Klein, Judge Bershon, and Ms. Kronstadt answered frequently asked questions relating to interviewing – i.e., What should I wear? Should I send a written thank you note or an email thank you note? Ms. Ishiguro moderated the panel. The students then applied their newfound skills by interviewing with lawyers throughout the Los Angeles area. The volunteers included: Ting He, Samy Sadighi, Kiran Sharma, Anna Miller, Katie Avery, Melissa Cahill, Tara Lundstrom, Christine Page, Patricia Daza-Luu, Kim Arnal, Cathy Ostiller, Karen Rose, Michelle Roberts, Elayne Berg-Willion, Michelle Ahnn, Aleksandra Zimonjic, Priscila Kasha, Rozella Oliver, and Jonathan Golding. Many thanks to all of our volunteers, our panelists, our moderator, and all others who helped to make the event a success, including Maya Harel, Kay Burt, and Lindsay Audette. Thank you as well to the staff of Loyola Law School for their continued support and assistance. And, of course, thanks to our sponsor Barbri who provided the refreshments for the event. We look forward to doing it again next year!
