Polish Your Image Event

by Jill Piano

On August 13, 2013, Women Lawyers of Los Angeles Association presented the 3rd Annual Polish Your Professional Image at the Frederic Fekkai Salon. The event provided women lawyers the opportunity to obtain a professional head shot taken by photographer Adam Sheridan Taylor at the world renowned Frederic Fekkai Salon.

The event was a spectacular success! Similar to the last two years, many participants stated that the Polish Your Image event was one of their favorite if not the best WLALA event they have ever attended. Attendee, Maria Hamar, said it best, “The event was fantastic and so much fun.  We girls get to have fun, look really good, and get our picture taken by a great photographer.  Everyone who works at the salon were so friendly and talented.  I ended up getting my hair cut a few days later by the stylist, Jacob, and loved it!”

We all know how important it is to have a professional head shot for our firm and other social media websites: however, with our hectic schedules, it can be a challenge to take the time for ourselves, let alone the time that goes into the production of creating a presentable head shot. In addition, some of us have a fear of having our photos taken. This event created the opportunity to have, in one location, all the resources at our disposal that are instrumental in helping us present our professional image in the best manner possible. Having the support of other women lawyers as well as the nurturing atmosphere of Frederic Fekkai Salon made facing this sometimes daunting task not only possible but lots of fun. The attendees enjoyed networking while supporting each other in the overwhelming task of "getting head shots" completed.

The Frederic Fekkai Salon venue was perfect. The talented staff and management at the salon were the most gracious hosts and their service was impeccable. There was champagne flowing, everyone was laughing and every woman that participated in the event left feeling nurtured and relaxed. Not to mention feeling better about themselves as well as about each other.

The event guaranteed that each participant would receive one service and a head shot for her future personal use. In addition, the attendee could purchase all of the photo shots for a nominal fee. Everyone actually received much more than they expected: 1) Networking opportunities with some of the most interesting women (other WLALA members as well as salon staff and management); 2) Excellent service - everyone was offered all three of the available salon services: hair, make-up and nails. Most were able to take advantage of two or more services; 3) Photography that guaranteed everyone had one or more shots.  Adam Sheridan Taylor professionally positioned everyone and took pictures until he got that wide smile and nod of approval from the subject. Another plus was the manner Adam entertained his subjects and charmed them with his English accent; and 4) Pampering - the salon further spoiled us by providing champagne, sparkling water and scrumptious hors d’oeuvres from Figue & Olive Restaurant, (severeal attendees loved the appetizers so much they went to the Restaurant after the event) and complimentary valet parking and a percentage off of a future service. Even if you do not need a headshot this event is worth attending for the networking and being spoiled for a couple of hours at this amazing salon! Frederic Fekkai is luxurious, while at the same time being warm and friendly.

Our deepest thanks to the incredible team at Frederic Fekkai Salon, the talented Photographer, Adam Sheridan Taylor, Kay Burt and all the beautiful attendees who made this a joy filled as well as a resourceful event! Again, I cannot recommend the amazing service by Frederic Fekkai enough.  Frederic Fekkai is a spectacular salon! To learn more about the salon visit them at:
