Shaun Dabby Jacobs

Conference of California Bar Associations 

Shaun Dabby Jacobs is a deputy city attorney in the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.  She currently defends the City of Los Angeles and the Los Angeles Police Department in labor and employment cases in state and federal courts through trial.  In addition, she has extensive experience prosecuting and trying misdemeanor criminal cases.  Ms. Jacobs has also tried cases where she represented the City and LAPD officers in federal and state court against false arrest and excessive force claims.  Ms. Jacobs has served on the WLALA Board of Governors since 2002.  She is currently the co-chair of WLALA’s delegation to the Conference of California Bar Associations and serves as a subcommittee chair on the Resolutions Committee of the Conference of California Bar Associations.  Ms. Jacobs is a member of the State Bar’s Committee on Administration of Justice.  Her term will expire in 2017.  Ms. Jacobs is the author of Domestic Confrontation, Los Angeles Lawyer (April 2010) and What You Should Probably Know About the California State Bar, WLALA E-Newsletter (April 2011).  She has taught MCLE classes for the City Attorney’s Office and has served as a panelist and speaker on various topics including work life balance issues at law school events. Ms. Jacobs received her J.D. from Loyola Law School and her B.A in political science and philosophy from U.C. Davis.
