WELCOME TO THE 2019-2020 WLALA FOUNDATION

ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN

CELEBRATING WLALA’S 100th YEAR!

About the Annual Giving Campaign and This Year’s Early Start. Donations to the WLALA Foundation are welcome throughout the year. Our heaviest donation period is during our Annual Giving Campaign that generally runs during the holiday season from November through the end of January. This year is extra special; it’s WLALA’s Centennial! For that reason, we decided to get a head start on this year’s campaign by asking our Board Members to make their pledges early—before the Centennial Celebration on September 21. As always, we aim for 100% Board participation in order to motivate new donors to give.

How Your Contributions are Used. Your contributions support scholarships for worthy law students, the Fran Kandel Public Interest fellowships, and the WLALA Inner City Law Center (ICLC) fellowships, as well as the Beverly Reid O’Connell Power Lunches for high school students, and the WLALA Foundation’s support of the Harriet Buhai Family Center and the Downtown Women’s Center.

More About Your Contributions. Over the past 12 years, the Annual Giving Campaign has raised over $215,000 from more than 280 donors. With that amount, the Foundation has awarded 40 scholarships, 19 Public Interest Fellowships, and 4 WLALA/ICLC Fellowships. Last year alone, the WLALA Foundation awarded five $6,000 scholarships, three $6,000 Fran Kandel Public Interest fellowships (plus up to a $1,000 stipend for expenses), and one $5,000 ICLC fellowship.

Please Give. If you believe in giving worthy students a helping hand with their tuition and encouraging them to pursue projects in the public interest and that help the underserved, please join us as a continuing donor or new donor and make your tax-deductible contribution today!
