Annual Giving Has a New Name: WLALA Foundation Charitable Fund
Our Purpose Remains the Same: To help Deserving Students with Tuition and Public Interest Projects
We are excited to announce that Annual Giving has a new name —WLALA Foundation Charitable Fund. While our new name better reflects the Fund’s charitable purposes and distinguishes it from WLALA’s other fundraising efforts, our goals are the same. We are still relying on your generous contributions to award annual scholarships and. public interest law fellowships to deserving law students. Over the past 13 years, we have raised more than $240,000 from nearly 300 individual donors. From these contributions, we have awarded 42 scholarships, 21 Public Interest Fellowships, and 6 WLALA/Inner City Law Center (“ICLC”) Fellowships. We have also supported the Beverly Reid O’Connell Power Lunches for high school students, the Harriett Buhai Family Center, and the Downtown Women’s Center.
Our big push for contribututions — the Campaign for the WLALA Foundation Charitable Fund --corresponds with the the holiday season (November through the end of January; however, earlier contributions are always welcome. As in the past, we aim for 100% Board participation and encourage those outside WLALA to also give. No donation is too small and all donations are greatly appreciated.
Please support deserving law students with their tuition and their public interest law work. Join us as a continuing donor or as a new donor and make your tax-deductible contribution today! If you would like to support deserving law students with their tuition and their public interest law work, the 'Campaign for the WLALA Foundation Charitable Fund' for 2020-2021 will begin In October. We hope you will return to the site and contribute then.
Many thanks for your generosity,
Elizabeth Dyer and Susan Steinhauser
